W. J. Abrams was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, the Wisconsin State Senate and was Mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Abrams was born William Abrams on March 19, 1829 in Cambridge, New York.[1] He would study theology in Williamstown, Massachusetts, but did not finish his studies due to ill health. In 1854, he married Henrietta T. Alton. They would have three children. Their son, Winford, also served as Mayor of Green Bay. Abrams moved to Wisconsin in 1856, settling in Green Bay in 1861. He passed away on September 12, 1900. Abrams, Wisconsin is named in his honor.
Abrams was a member of the Assembly from 1864 to 1867 and of the Senate from 1868 to 1869. He was later Mayor of Green Bay in 1881 and again from 1883 to 1884.
